The new generation of SKF Speedi-Sleeve wear-resistant bushings (repair bushings) adopt a proprietary stainless steel material and production process to optimize the mating surfaces of the seals to the greatest extent, thereby reducing the wear of the bushing and sealing lip as much as possible. The use of proprietary materials greatly improves the strength and excellent toughness of the bushing. The fine grooves on the wear-resistant bushing are filled with lubricant to prevent the sealing lip from rotating dry, otherwise it will cause excessive wear of the lip. The contact surface has abrasion resistance, and the processing texture is minimized (0º±0.05), and its surface roughness Ra is 0.25 to 0.5 µm (10 to 20 µin.). A better mating surface achieved on the shaft.

SKF Speedi-Sleeve wear-resistant bushings are equipped with removable flanges to simplify installation. The flange is usually left on, but if it interferes with other parts, it should be removed to avoid friction, heat generation and grinding debris. Where it is possible to reduce the supply of lubricant, it should also be removed. Otherwise, the cooling effect of the lubricant will be reduced, leading to an increase in the temperature under the lip and premature aging of the sealing material.

If the flange needs to be removed, the outer diameter of the flange should be cut to the arc at a certain place before installation. After installation, first use long-nose pliers to twist the flange and pull it up, then use pliers to clamp and roll it up until it is pulled down.
